AmericaxReader: A Shoulder to Cry On

       

You sighed as raindrops hit your face. Your day today was really stressful. You had to work a long shift at your job, and your boss wouldn't get off your back. If that wasn't bad enough, your two roommates got in a really big fight and dragged you into the middle of it. It all grew to be just too much, so you decided to go out for a walk, despite the fact that it was raining hard. Maybe the rain would calm you down.

So now here you were in the park, getting completely soaked, and trying to forget your troubles.

"(Name)?" You opened your eyes to see your best friend, and long-time crush, Alfred F. Jones. The hyper blonde was standing in front of you, an umbrella shielding him from the heavy rain. "Whoa, dudette! You're completely soaked! What are you doing out here all by yourself in the rain?"

You sighed. "Today has just been really bad. I had to work a long shift, my boss wouldn't get off my back, and my two roommates dragged me into the middle of a big fight..." You buried your face in your hands. "I swear, Alfred, it all gets to be too much sometimes. I thought the rain would help calm me down..."

Alfred knelt down in front of you, tipping up your chin so you were looking at him. You hoped he wouldn't see you blush.

"Cheer up, dudette. Things may be tough now, but that doesn't mean it'll always be tough. Life has its ups and downs, but if you let the downs consume your thinking, you won't ever enjoy the good things in life."

You couldn't help but smile. Alfred was right. You needed to stop worrying so much on the bad things in your life and focus more on the good things.

Alfred extended his hand. "Come on, (Name). You'll get sick if you stay out much longer. Why don't you come back to my place? We can watch some movies."

You smiled and took his hand. He pulled you underneath his umbrella and held your hand as the two of you walked back to his house.

"Hey, (Name)! How about this movie?"

You looked up with the towel Alfred had given you draped around your shoulders. Alfred was grinning and holding up "Paranormal Activity".

You made a face at the movie. "Alfred, every time we watch that movie, you end up clinging to me crying like a little girl."

Alfred pouted. "I do not! I'm a hero, and heroes never get scared!" And with that, he popped the movie into the player and flopped down beside you.

And sure enough, halfway through the movie, he was clinging to you whimpering.

"You were saying, hero?" you said as the movie ended and he turned off the player.

"Shut up..." he murmured. "At least I was able to make you feel better."

You smiled. "Yeah, that's true." You leaned up and kissed him on the cheek. "You're my hero..."

Alfred looked at you wide-eyed and blushing. You realized what you had done.

"A-Alfred, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to..."

Alfred cut you off by resting his hands on either side of your face and bringing his lips onto yours. The kiss was sweet and gentle, and it made your heart melt.

Alfred finally allowed the kiss to end, tilting his head as you stared at him in disbelief.

"A-Alfred...Wh-What...?"

"(N-Name), there's no need to be sorry...I...I've liked you for a really long time..." he looked down, a faint tint of red dusted across his face. "I don't like seeing you so sad..."

"Alfred..."

The normally hyper blonde looked up again and wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close in a hug.

"Whenever you need me, I'll be your shoulder to cry on..."

You hugged him back. "Thanks Alfie..."

You remained like that for a while, locked together in a sweet, loving embrace.

"..."

"..."

"...So how about Paranormal Activity 2?"

"You never learn..."
